D*ana do the Math 3.4 millions of Filipino Americans in the U.S. Even if only 1 million will vote with 50 votes each that is already 50 million. Now most of them don’t stop at 50, they vote for solid 2 hours till their fingers hurt. For the finale the voting is for four hours and the plan is to vote for the four hours. And this is not counting the Mexican votes yet and they compose 10% of the whole population. Can you imagine how many votes would that be if all 3 million would join in the voting for the finale? I am telling you and those that are suspicious, Jessica Sanches doesn’t need any votes outside the country, she has more than enough right here in the U.S.

The reason this has become a news story is due to the fact that after Jessica was ELIMINATED from the competition and saved by the judges (with one of the most ludicrous displays of bias in eleven seasons of AI), her fans in the Philippines orchestrated a massive campaign to have people who are not residents of the United States (or Puerto Rico or the US Virgin Islands) to cast ILLEGAL votes for her. They have been bombarding every major AI discussion board as well as Twitter, Facebook, and every AI video posted on youtube with explicit instructions on how to bypass the stopguards in place to prevent votes from other countries. That, combined with the recent news of the media in the Philippines publishing information about using Skype, MagicJack, and Vonage to cast votes constitutes conspiracy to commit fraud. I can understand how Filipinos admire Jessica and are proud of her, but that does not justify violating the rules and qualifications about voting. While cultural pride is admirable and understandable, this illegal voting campaign is portraying the Philippines and its citizens in a negative light along with creating a negative opinion of Jessica, even though she is not responsible for it. Now that it’s down to the final two competitors, the news regarding the actions of those determined to try and affect the vote totals is receiving more exposure and will likely be picked up by the mainstream media here in the US as it should be. Fox may not report on it, but other networks (especially those who have their own singing competition shows) won’t have any qualms about investigating and exposing it to the public if for no other reason than to give their competition a black-eye, so to speak. I have no pony in this race, but I do take exception to underhanded and illegal tactics to try and affect the results.
