Here are a few photos from my quick trip to San Francisco today.  I met up with my friend Arwyn – we hadn’t seen each other in 12 years!  She took me on a coffee shop tour through her neighborhood and then we went to the BART station and headed in to the city.

We started at Union Square but decided not to spend any money shopping!  I got some pictures of Macy’s, Saks, Tiffany’s, and a few other interesting views.  I didn’t see the Golden Gate Bridge – had to go a different way to get to Arwyn’s… oh well, next time!  The postcards get better pictures of it anyway – it’s a bridge.  And I’m not at all disappointed I didn’t get to drive over it!!

We went to the Castro neighborhood.  It reminded me of P-Town and it just gives me a good feeling to see so many people just comfortable with themselves… some a little too comfortable… what can ya do but laugh!  My friend wants to do a show where she checks out crazy fashion people… I also enjoy the interesting shops and would much rather enjoy something different than go into stores I can shop at anywhere!

She showed me Clarion Alley and we saw some interesting places of business…

The drive through the mountains was amazing and a little scary – up and down steep hills of freeway!  And the radio stations go in and out in the valleys- irritating!  It gets really windy in some spots too.  The view was cool though.  I’ve just never driving through mountains like that.  There’s a steep hill and a tunnel on the Merritt Parkway from NYC through CT but nothing like this.  I know other places are far more majestic but it was new to me!

The coolest is to see all the clouds just hovering over the mountains.  You can’t really see from the pictures but it looks enormous in real life!

Now I do not have proof of this, but watch this clip from Toy Story 3, and then look at the picture of a Barbie I sold on eBay in November 2008… to Bix Pix Entertainment.

Their website says they work with Disney among other major clients… and the guy had me FedEx the doll overnight because he needed it for a project.  When I checked out their website and asked if she’d be in a movie he wrote back and said yes but that it wouldn’t be done for a while and he couldn’t give me any more info.

I have since lost his email address to verify… but I really think my Barbie modeled for the movie!!

And I just searched and found the picture of Kyla with the Barbie before we sent her off to Hollywood.  I had NO IDEA she’d end up in such a big movie!!!

What do you think of this sweatshirt?  I want it!!!  I have been waiting to redeem my VS coupon and now that I can use it the sweatshirt is sold out in every size but XS!!  I WANT IT!!!!  It’s a little odd that VS is putting out clothes about being high but I think it’s fun!  And there really is a high that comes along with getting new Pink stuff!!

OK, maybe I am just weird, but when I saw these pictures of Mya out for her birthday the first thing I thought of was Left Eye… only Mya’s like “Left Boob” – remember how Left Eye had the black mark under her eye?  That’s what this shirt reminds me of.

And we won’t even mention the pants…

This is the inside of the birthday card my 5 year old gave me… She asked us how to spell all of the words, except “poop” – so she could surprise me.  I opened this card at dinner and I couldn’t  believe how funny it was!!  She is too cute – and her mother’s daughter :)

Totally not dirt but whatever… She’s cute I want to show her off!

I say her – I think it’s a girl based on what I’ve read…

We found this baby turtle in our pool the other day, I found a great website with lots of great info on turtles and have her all set up with a separate feeding bin and everything.  She is fine with her little plastic container for now, once she gets a little bigger I will get her a nice tank… and when we go back up north she’ll need a warming light.  Kyla named her Kaylee LOL.
