This is terrible! The resort where nobody puts Baby in a corner is now a pile of ashes and rubble!
The Grandview Palace in Liberty, NY, better known as Kellerman’s in the movie, burned to the ground earlier this week in what is being called the biggest fire in the history of The Catskills. Apparently the building had multiple code violations and the owners were just barely managing to keep it from being shut down by the fire marshal. Unfortunately the inspectors were right… the fire started in a basement and spread like crazy, leaving several residents homeless.
This just makes me want to go home and watch the movie…

Nobody puts baby in a corner has to die on my birthday? Sad. JimRyan and I were just talking about how Patrick Swayze was like our Michael Landon… I mean Road House was no Little House on the Prairie, but they both had that rugged yet caring strong man thing, and they both died too young of cancer.
I really want to watch me some dirty dancing… I remember going to the movies to see that and I don’t think we were really old enough to see it but it was awesome… doing “the lift” in the lake and listening to She’s Like the Wind over and over… well all the other songs on the TAPE as well… as in casette tape.
Super sad, RIP Patrick Swayze.
You finally have to accept the fact that guys like Patrick Swayze are officially old and have lost all sex appeal they had when you were younger? Seriously, who didn’t want to be Baby Houseman and do the lift, carry a watermelon, and not be put in corner? Just so you could have Johnny Castle teach you how to tango… to Hungry Eyes… Yeah, I think he was in some of my earliest fantasies ;)Â
