This is SO disturbing! DJ AM survived a plane crash last year in which 4 other people DIED… I mean he pretty much CHEATED death… you’d think that would make one cherish life and appreciate all he had… but instead he popped a bunch of pills and now he’s dead.
This is all speculation, but there were apparently some prescription pills found in his hotel room and he hadn’t been seen or heard from in a few days.
His last Twitter post on Tuesday:
“New York, New York. Big city of dreams, but everything in New York ain’t always what it seems.”
Quote from a Grandmaster Flash song, but very CHILLING!
RIP DJ AM, another talented star ruined by prescription pills!!!!!!
Lots more from MTV News here.

2I feel bad for him but at the same time… I don’t. I think it’s crazy to say he wouldn’t be on prescription pills of any kind after him being burned pretty badly. AND He’s been sober for a long time but I can’t feel 100% bad because he jumped out of a plane, burning to survive yet he died anyway from drugs and several other people from that plane died and are not coming back anytime soon. He got the 2nd chance to survive…. they didn’t.

3I enjoy coming on to this site, but please get the facts straight, even the smallest ones. It was his apartment where he was found, not a hotel room. And I have to agree with jess, very insensitive. Will not be coming to this site any longer.

4I agree that your statements were very insensitive. We don’t even know the whole story and even so, it’s not anyone’s place to judge how much he appreciated his life. Only he knows that.

5Dana is right! Look…he got a second chance at life when he and Travis escaped that plane crash. Let’s not forget how good his life was either…he did what he loved, he made boatloads of money, people loved him etc. Not so bad, right? At the end of the day, I would think someone that cheated death once might do a little soul searching and decide to stop doing dumb shit. Maybe he was addicted, but if that’s the case, why not enter rehab? Obviously, I don’t think anyone is happy this happened….but I definitely think he made some bad decisions that probably cost him his life.

6Dana is allowed to say and think whatever she wants about celebrities in the news. This is her site and if she wants to state that he didn’t appreciate life because he popped a bunch of pills, well, I would pretty much have to agree. He had money, fame, and the ability to do whatever he wanted and he chose to snort shit up his nose until it finally caught up with him. And you should never forget all the hard work it takes Dana to put together a site like this strictly for your entertainment. Within the hundreds of posts that she comes up with and has to comment on not everyone is going to like everything she says, but you should think before you denounce her work entirely and then jump into the saddle on your high horse.

8He did not pop a bunch of pills , he was on anti-depressants and fell of the wagon and went back to his old habit of crack. Those two things do not mix at all. He was a reformed addict that had a horrible thing happen to him with that plane crash. You can sit there and judge Dana but you didn’t see what he saw. Don’t be so quick to post something that you don’t have all the facts on.

9Do any of you realize that the story was probably posted as the story was breaking, so all of the facts weren’t out yet.
I said this about the Michael Jackson story and I’ll say it about this story, all of these people are coming out saying how much they will miss him and how great of a person he is…Where were all these people while he started to battle his demons again?

10I am curious to know if the doctor who prescribed his medications is going to be tried for homicide.
