People were saying to me how they liked everyone's speech but hers because they hadn't been friends in years and I just ignored them because I had no idea what their relationship was like. Now that I know where they got this from, ugh! It shows you how much influence this nasty, negative man had/has on people who believe everything they hear. I have no idea why ABC let him comment either. I would forget and change to ABC when the sound on CBS messed up and hear his stupid voice and get irritated every time. Dana I think it is great that you and many others are looking at Michael's life behind the distorted veil resurrected by the media. And you writing about it will certainly make at least a few others look more closely as well. This isn't true though "All we’ve had to go on is what’s been brought to us by the media all these years". The U.S. media was not the only available press coverage of Michael, and not all of the U.S. coverage was lies. You would be shocked at the way he was covered in other countries. I don't remember the name but a woman who reported on the 2005 trial put out a heavily documented book on the trial. You didn't even have to depend on the media. Michael and Geraldo put out a response to the bashir POS. The pepsi incident and his time with the Jackson 5/Jacksons (which led to plastic surgery "issues", demerol, childlike nature) have been written about by Michael and those close to him. A lot of people only listen to what is loudest, most shocking, interesting, etc. That doesn't mean that is all that's there, however. That one seems shady as well, especially when you read what the child's father said about it. I was too shocked to see that Martin Bashir was allowed to comment on ABCs coverage of the memorial. He is a disgusting man. What pissed me off the most about his comments, was after Brooke Shield's speech, Bashir said he found her speech strange because during his interview with Michael a few years ago, he never told Bashir about his friendship with Brooke, and didn't think they were that close. What the F? Why the hell would Michael tell him how close he is/was with her. He's not his damn friend. Also, one more thing that peeved me during the memorial was when Charlie Gibson said Paris was visiably upset, but the 2 boys were not. Again, What the F? How the hell does he know how they feel? I'm sure they are devastated. Little things like that just pissed me off. Anyways, keep up the little investigation you have going on Dana! I think it's great. I felt horrible for Paris having to speak ("Speak up, speak up!" as the family coached), but her words were from the heart and heartbreakingly true. She's a spitting image of Debbie Rowe.
