i like there show and all but there is nothing bad with hitting yor child if they are being bad then what to do the poparoxies need to have somthing else to do!!!!!!! time out wont work but i bet kate didnt even hit her that hard cause when children scream they just want you to let them go and not get what the deserve so thats what i think

If I hear one more person make Kate out to be the bad person…these sites are all going to lose my visit. Since when is it okay for the man to screw up and everyone can go and find ways to blame her for it? I’m sorry…nobody was ‘exposing’ kate until her hubby couldn’t keep it in his pants.

I have no problem with open hand spanking a child that is not responding to redirection and warnings. I also know that each child is different and responds differently to discipline. My oldest is very defiant and at times does not respond to verbal warnings, threats of toys being taken away if behavior does not stop etc… However, a spanking will always get his attention. When he acts up in public nothing makes me more frustrated because people do not know the whole situation that has been building up to the child’s disobedience. Maybe there was a 3rd, 4th, 5th warning you’ve given and this was the last straw. It’s always darned if you do, darned if you don’t. If we don’t control our children then we’re spoiling them – they’re brats. But if we spank or enact control when needed, then we are being “bad” parents or are vilified. As for Jon and Kate, I think we should leave them alone. AND I think Jon and Kate should have enough sense at this point to say enough, cancel the show and let the healing begin! The whole situation is out of control. my 2 cents.

i m sorry but a open hand spank on the bottom is not a terrible then. i have 4 children ranging in ages 18 to 3yrs and i have spanked them when they were small. ive never left a mark on them and it was always with an open hand on the bottom. people are so quick to judge her because she’s on tv if she was a normal mom noone would care. just because the camera is on doesn’t mean she stops being a mom.

Those children act like brats half the time. A swat to the leg isn’t going to kill any of them, if they are misbehaving and truely need some discipline. For some children, that’s what works.

i agree with what most of you said…yes she did put herself out there…..there is an up side to it and a down….that is part of it…..i am tired of hearing abotu her and John all over the tabloids…just leave it alone…move on to something else…about her spanking her kid….i believe what Genna said….we as 80′s children got our butts spanked and we were alot better behaved than most kids today! she is never aggressive with her children so what if she swatted her kid…big deal! stop picking the woman apart. as parents we face battles and we all make mistakes!

Nothing wrong with spanking your kids. Maybe if more parents would spank their kids there would be fewer bratty kids. I have no problem with spanking either one of my kids. Even in public, I spanked my son in the store the other day doesn’t matter to me if people are watching or not and if someone doesn’t like that than they can talk to me about it. It doesn’t make me a bad parent.
