This is apparently the little girl Madonna is getting ready to adopt in Malawi. She is 4 and now being taken care of by nannies.
I read the most inappropriate comment regarding this picture and others of Madonna with her adopted son David:
“Celebrities think Africa is Petland.”

1Sounds right to me.. they adopt a pet, bring out for show and tell and play; and the nannies raise them.. but these children, especially Mercy have living relatives that visit and love her, and only gave her to the orphanage as she could afford to pay for her keep.. Shame shame! If Madonna knows, and she does as she adopted David anyway with his father still able bodied and alive… Mercy’s grandmother is protesting Madonna is removing her grandchild from her, saying she is stealing her and picked her as Mercy is the brightest and most happy girl in the orphanage.

2Just imagine the life this little girl is about to enter! Overnight, she will be going from poverty to total comfort! It really doesn’t matter to me where kids are adopted from, as long as the home they go to provide love and safety for the child. Hopefully Madonna is doing this with her busy schedule.
