My boyfriend and I spent a much needed weekend away on the east coast of Florida… We left Tampa around 4pm on Saturday – after I had my hair done (finally) at a great place on Gunn Highway – got into Miami at 8… partied until 4am… got up Sunday and drove to Boca for brunch with his cousin, grandmother and some friends… then we went to Loxahachee National Wildlife Reserve in the Everglades and saw alligators, baby alligators, and we even caught birds mating on video! Then last night we went to see my cousins who live in Ft. Lauderdale – I hadn’t seen them in ten years!!
We drove back across Alligator Alley and up 75 in the middle of the night, had to call in a drunk driver who nearly ran us and 4 other cars off the road… got home at 3am… and now I’m tired… but refreshed and ready to get the week started!
So here are some pictures… and I have a couple of video blogs in the works with all of the crazy vacation footage, but I’m a little disappointed my video of the ducks getting it on didn’t come out so great! It was so cool… there were two ducks swimming towards the gator from opposite directions, of course the man is rooting for the lurking gator to strike… but instead the duck makes it past the gator, meets the other duck, they start their mating calls, flirt a little, then head up on shore a bit… one hops on top of the other… love was made! It was cool… I wish I had a better video camera to catch the magic!
Lots to do today, but I wanted to share a few pictures first.
