Have you seen this MTV show “How’s Your News?” My friend just told me about it so I went on MTV.com to watch… OMG it is absolutely hysterical.
It is literally retarded people interviewing celebrities and reporting the news… they are a riot! It’s one of those things that you will have a hard time watching at first because it’s so drilled into us that it is wrong to laugh at people who are disabled… but they’re doing it for fun, and hopefully they’re getting paid well… not like freaking Slumdog-style we’ll give you a modest apartment…
Go check it out on www.mtv.com and under Shows you’ll find it… How’s Your News?
Let me know what you think… I wonder if anyone out there is pissed off about it…

3U people make me sick the way u critise another woman, who needs a man 2 make u feel like crap. U should b ashamed of yourselves. U only hate, because u don’t have confidence with your own body. I feel sad for every1 of you who upload those pathetic comments.

7I saw a show like this a long time ago on HBO or one of the movie channels. I had to turn it off, I felt so guilty for laughing.

8As a person with a disability, I can say that the only potential problem I see with this show is the perpetuation of negative stereotypes towards people who are developmentally delayed (that’s the proper term, by the way….retarded, to me, is very dehumanizing, and I think should be classified right alongside the “N” word). But like you say, these people did agree to do this, which means they understand that it’s intended to be funny.
Like I said, I would just hate to see this perpetuate hurtful stereotypes.

9I understand Ashleigh… I never know what word to use, so I didn’t mean to offend you. I felt guilty for laughing too, but good for them, they’re funny and it’s entertaining… and why shouldn’t they be able to be comedians. I think it’s a good thing, they are having fun, and I don’t really think this can make the stereotypes and hurtful attitude toward mentally challenged people any worse.. If anything it shows them doing a cool job in a fun way, and their personalities and the things they say are amusing…

10I wasn’t offended Dana, I’ve been a fan of yours from way back when you were on the air at FLZ, so I know you weren’t being hurtful….I know lots of people don’t know what to say, so rather than get pissy and mean I just give the information….MUCH easier! LOL

11Each one has a personality just like us. It’s not so much that they are funny, but sincere and honest on what they want and mean on the job and the celeb must respond in a like manner or they will call them out on it..
