Our African Grey – Sasha – talks and picks up noises and repeats them, and of course since these birds have the learning capacity of a toddler they opt to say the most obnoxious of things they hear…
Currently, she’s saying “F**KER” like a broken record because she spent the last few months as the store pet in Philly and one of the “regular customers” thought it would be funny to try to get her to say it… and sure enough. THANKS!!
Anyway, I don’t have her dropping the F-bomb on video… yet… but I do have her imitating Brian opening a soda, gulping it down, ahhhing when he was done… and BELCHING – TWICE!!
The voice you hear is her imitating my boyfriend… and the clunking of the tongue is what I do constantly and she does it more and more. I am trying to get her to say ” I love you mama” and “YOU ROCK” when we’re playing guitar hero. Instead, she burps!!

2Too funny! Better be careful what you “teach” her.
It is amazing how close these birds can imitate sounds. My friend’s African Grey does a ringing phone that sounds like the real deal. You’ll have to include Sasha as a guest on one of your podcasts.

3When my mother-in-law comes over she always tells my bird, “Hello Charlie” and now instead of saying just hello he says Hello Charlie. Also you should teach him to cat whistle at women. Its so funny when my friends come over they love it.

4Oh she does a LOT… when we are putting our coats on she says “go bye bye” when we shut the lights off for bed she says “go night night”, when she hears a phone ring she says “hello” in my boyfriend’s voice… she does a lot. I am working on teaching her new stuff but it takes a while… She’s into Guitar Hero, I tried to catch her dancing on video but of course once I put the camera on her she stopped!
