Paris Hilton and Benji Madden went to Dolce night club. One thing I like about Paris, she very rarely makes fashion mistakes. She always looks good. They’re kind of cute actually.
The other picture – Paris in the white dress – is of them arriving at the Dorchester Hotel. There are so many pictures it is hard to keep up!

1UGH!!!!!
DANA, you made me vomit a little in my mouth. I haven’t been checking back as regularly as I had been, in say, about a year, 6 months ago b/c of the way that your blog has totally changed. It’s not the pink and black font, it’s not the photo you pasted at the top, it’s not even the obnoxious “Click here to See!” deals, or even that you continually screw up the chronological Page Forward, Page Back buttons on the bottom of each page… It’s not anything but your stupid, ridiculously, insanely bland, almost congratulatory, KISS-ASS commentary!!!!
This blog is not the guilty pleasure it once was, and this post about Paris Hilton is a picture perfect example that epitomizes my point. I didn’t use care if you said something goofy, or lame, or even dumb b/c for the most part, your commentary was snarky and entertaining, and sometimes really harsh and mean-spirited–but always, deservedly so! I felt like I agreed with most of your observations and if you were especially mean to someone, it was b/c they had, for the most part–conducted themselves in a way that deserved it. It was like, yeah!–justice was served, take that!–go Dana! And I used to check in frequently throughout the day for new posts, and new photos that I never used to see anywhere else.
But now I’m bored to tears whenever I happen to have some free web surfing time and have nothing left I desire to read, and I check in on this blog. It’s terrible now! I’m actually, astounded, as to how horrible it’s shaped up to be.
Look, if the headline that you choose to use as part of your logo, emblazoned at the top of your page reads, “MAKING YOU GLAD YOU’RE NOT FAMOUS,” you should fulfill that focus in the content of your posts. You write, “Making You Glad You’re Not Famous” at the top, and then write this blather about Paris Hilton?!??
“I like that Paris Hilton rarely makes fashion mistakes.”
“She always looks good.”
“They’re kind of cute.”
Sick! This is freaking Paris Hilton (and freakin’ Benji Madden) you’re talking about here. She’s perhaps the one person your, “Making You Glad You’re Not Famous” headline should have no trouble finding its voice with b/c she’s the ULTIMATE CELEBRETARD FAME WHORE who adds zero to negative societal value and demeans humanity even by breathing air into her worthless lungs, jetting off aimlessly from place to place, wasting our oxygen and other planetary resources that should be put to better use.
This is just one of many examples that I’m too sick and tired of to list. Your whole blog has basically been washed over in this same sort of boring, inane light, and you’ve lost perspective on the insights you used to have, and were once appreciated.
Change your blog back to what it once was if you want to gain and retain your readership and attract sponsors. I feel as though you’ve been missing the point since you’ve been so wrapped up in “getting bigger” and launching a new website to start the ball rolling so you can make more money. Stop being a mealy mouthed kiss-ass! I actually like stories about celebrities when they’re doing something right, when they’re actually good , “normal” people. But it totally sucks when all I want to do is to be entertained by a blog’s smarmy, insightful host that doesn’t take shit from and doesn’t fawn all over these incredibly, fantastically, grotesquely, fascinating weirdos running amok in this crazy-making industry–when I want to read something that “makes me glad I’m not famous” as I giggle my head off–and then I have to suffer through something so intensely booooooooring and lame. Stop being “careful,” and writing ridiculous fluff like this–I don’t want to hear you say that you like Paris Hilton’s stupid , boring headbands or Beyonce’s hair, or how beautiful you think Lindsay Lohan is, or whatever else that’s like that!
Get real, and get your old self back for the good of your own blog and for the sake of your once-devoted but waning readership.

2I have not once said I think Lindsay Lohan is beautiful… She looks like hell, and I’ve said it over and over again.
I don’t like Paris Hilton, but I can’t help but envy her outfits!! I’m sorry you don’t like my comments anymore, but I really just say what I think – there’s no effort to be one way or another… I just write what pops into my head.
As for the “previous posts” or whatever, the fact that it was confusing was pointed out to me and I fixed it. For some reason – that I have not yet figured out – the link doesn’t always display right… That’s a code problem that doesn’t really make sense to us but we’re looking into it.
As for the pictures, I had no choice but to pay for them, which is why there aren’t as many. They are expensive. I am now paying MORE than I’m making just to keep the site going with photos, so it will take some time to catch up and be able to work with more than one agency. I received a very serious legal threat from an agency – and I could have been dropped by my main ad network – if I didn’t start paying. I had no other choice. I think I already explained myself. If you don’t care or understand, that’s fine by me… I am doing what I have to do.
As for the “waning” readership… I now have more visitors per day, every day, and am getting linked from more sites than I was before I redid the site.
I also got a threatening letter from Fergie’s lawyer because I said she was drunk in a photo and she apparently wasn’t drunk. I am not going to risk my life savings and the well-being of my family to keep you satisfied with insults… I don’t think you would either.
Thanks for the comment!

3Dear Dana,
If I know anything about the comments you make in response to your readers’ comments, it is that you are someone who does not take criticism well. My comments were out of frustration; so that your blog could once again be as entertaining as it once was.
And, as I’ve said before, I enjoy posts about good-hearted celebrities doing good things, cute things, happy things, etc. But someone like Paris Hilton does not deserve one iota of a compliment. It just sounds like you’re kissing her ass, or perhaps, more truthfully, it sounds like you’re afraid of her. So, no. You don’t have to intentionally insult people to satisfy your readers. And I don’t think that adding a witty insight or funny comment/opinion to something means that you need to just make up a story just to be insulting or mean. That’s absolutely offensive and unethical, not to mention a really dumb thing to do, which is why you deserved to get threatened for a lawsuit by Fergie’s people. You can’t just make up a story about her, even if it’s about her being drunk. You can say that she looks like a hot mess and that the pictures of her staggering about show some vile looking granny panties–or whatever–stuff like that, and then mention the time when those controversial pictures surfaced of her wet pants crotch at a concert, where she “allegedly” peed her pants after drinking with the band, etc. I know how you like to headline things, it’s never, “Fergie Looks a Little Tipsy,” it’s usually, “Fergie’s WASTED!!!” or “Fergie’s TRASHED ON STAGE!!!” etc.
My point was that you shouldn’t use the headline, “Making You Glad You’re Not Famous,” and then writing this kind of drivvle about PARIS HILTON, of all people. For god sakes, woman, do you not see the contradiction in that???–given that it’s HER?!??
By the way, I have to point out that I am not mistaken. Below, is a post taken from your blog:
“LINDSAY’S A ROCK STAR”
Mar 10, Posted by D*ana
“No matter how bad this girl looks she is still gorgeous. Seriously, I think that is why I hate her so much. I actually think she’s one of the most beautiful people ever, she looks good – but different – no matter what she does to herself.
This outfit sucks though.”
Again, as I’ve pointed out to you in my first comment, you have changed. You have become more “careful” with your post, and not as fun or opinionated with them, and the information you just related about this legal threat from Fergie’s people is very telling as to the reasons for just that. You’ve gotten away with posting other people’s pictures and then received legal threats from photo agencies. Big deal. Every burgeoning blog goes through that. You merely stop posting them, you shop around for a photo contract, and you deal with it. You should be thankful that you were allowed to ride on these photo agencies’ coattails scot-free for so long and obtain a following of readers b/c of it. But making up stories about someone is pretty inexcusable in this industry, and you’ve learned from that. I’m actually happy that you seem to know that for certain so as not to jeopardize your finances. However, it does not mean that you need to change your voice and pander to them.
Some possible examples of this type of pandering:
On Fergie’s stumbling outside an NYC restaurant with Sean Patterson, Wilhelmina President, May 08, you wrote: Fergie was leaving the Waverly last night and took a little digger! She wasn’t drunk though. Just clumsy I guess!
In another post, you wrote (all in the same post): Fergie looks hot! Fergie looks great. Fergie looks licious.
Another post: Fergie’s straightened her hair. I like it a lot!
Previous to these posts, the consistent theme went: Fergie looks scary. Fergie wears bad outfits. There’s something scary about her face. She’s not feminine at all, etc. etc.
I’m simply pointing out the facts to you. I’m actually trying to be helpful, even though you would probably not see it this way b/c of your tendencies toward reader criticism. This is actually unfortunate, for me, as I feel as though I’ve lost the enjoyment of reading a blog written by a host who’s sharp observations and commentaries I’d once appreciated and was greatly entertained by. I feel sorry you’ve had to go through your share of legal troubles, but, all I’ve been saying is that you shouldn’t feel as though you have to tiptoe around carefully because of it.
Well, I hope you can take my opinion for what it’s worth. Take care, Dana, and good luck to you and yours.
