I personally don't like having cold feet, but apparently others don't mind. Walking barefoot on the airport floor is disgusting. Think of the germs! Found that out when I bought a pair of sturdy "work" shoe/hiking shoe to travel to Indonesia and do a month's worth of walking a few years ago. Apparently the "reinforced" toe turned out to be steel, and I set off every stinking alarm between here, Japan, Alaska, and Toronoto (we flew on frequent flyer free tics, so they flew us all over creation to get there and back.)
