George Clooney and his girlfriend Sarah Larsen didn’t take the gift basket from the Academy Awards last night… he never does. He told Time Magazine, “I’ve been smart about that. Rich famous people getting free s**t looks bad. You look greedy. And I don’t need a cell phone with sparkles on it.”

4I think it’s great that he didnt take the gift bag. He’s being honest and honourable. I think it’s really tacky when celebrities take free stuff because they can afford to buy at the stuff multiple times. I think the only way a celeb should accept free stuff is to auction it off for charity (if that’s allowed). The most irksome thing is when celebrities – not A-list or B-list – but lower down the hierarchy celebs such as Tori Spelling & her hubby fill their boots with free crap. It’s really funny but really sad at the same time.
