   I do respect her for having the courage to go through this in the tabloids. It has to be hard enough being 16 and pregnant but then having this be all over the news has to be hard. Hopefully she will be a good mom and things will go better for her then they did her sister. Hopefully things go well for her.

   However she did say that she wanted privacy and yet she gave ok magazine an exclusive on her pregnancy…She could have just released a statement asking for privacy…I guess I dont understand celebrities but hey if I was pregnant and everyone was making money off pictures of me I might just make myself some money and release the news first HAHAHA

   I wish her the best of luck, but I really do think this sets a bad example for the yonger peeps in the world, and their mom is writing a book on parenting i hear… what a joke, someone needs to give her a book on parenting. that family is a freaking mess!

   Jamie Lynn also says she plans to raise the baby in her hometown in Lousiana so it can have a normal life… Good call, she’s on the right track already… maybe she should adopt her nephews???”
   simply means she has been fired or will be fired by Nickelodeon shortly.
   I assume, I know not always the smartest move but, that as a southerner raised in louisiana they have heard country music. I also assume in the spears’ family short lives they have heard a song by Loretta Lynn called ‘the pill’. Or they have had some sort of sex ed in health class. Cuz they obviously don’t learn from each other. I am just waiting for brother Brian to announce his offspring and we will be set. I think he is gay but still that should not stop his ability to reproduce. This family makes my head hurt. Ooops doesn’t cut it anymore. Seriously, they need to get a head shrinker involved at some point. Babies are a blessing but at 16 or at any age it is a lot of work to take care of you and your child. Sterilization of her offspring has probably gone through mama Lynn’s mind at some point recently.

   Only one question, how can they both be shocked by this I mean they did have sex and did not use protection, I do not see how shock is the answer. I am sorry I am a mother of 3 boys and I just think that Mama Spears needs to worry less about writing a book and spending more time with her kids and trying to fix the mess her family is in right now. I am sorry that is a book I hope no one will be using as a guide to raise there children with!!!!!

   I think the shocker was that everyone found out that little Miss Jamie Lynn is not a virgin and got knocked up! Aw and her parents just adore her 18-19 year old boyfriend?? I bet they do! What did they think an 18-19 year old wanted with a 16 year old girl when he first started sniffing around? Roller skating? Come on mom, take some responsibility and stop worrying about writing a parenting book. Actually….that book would probably be somewhat comical to read!

    Stef, being raised in Louisiana doesn’t predispose us as “listening to country music”. I myself am from Louisiana (although not from Kentwood thank god) and do not consider myself brainless white trash and I know how to use birth control. Don’t blame their “country upbringing” on their faults. They made their own life choices and the state they’re from doesn’t have anything to do with it. They’re just stupid immature girls who can’t comprehend the whole concept of sticking a patch on their ass once a week. It’s not that difficult.

    Ok this is starting to piss me off! Yea shes 16 and her life is completely changed.. but the sitution is what it is now.. and the facts of the matter are that everyone bitchin and talking about what a bad example and about her mom isnt going to change anything!! If you look back at choices you made at 16 I bet that they werent always the most thought out choices! And someone wrote the had sex without protection? How the hell do you know? were you in the bedroom? how do you know it wasnt a borken condom or if the birth control failed? Maybe just maybe she doesnt wanna release all that personal information! And maybe she is against the morning after? It is basically a quicky abortion.. and even if the poor girl wanted ..do you really think she coulda went to the clinic to get it without some damn camera in her face? or rumours? And as for lynn spears.. yea maybe she coulda been there more..but we’re not her.. how do we know how much she was there! Any of you that are out there that our mothers of older children would relize that no matter if your a stay at home mom or a career woman you CAN NOT be with your kids 24/7! And at some point you have to start to trust them.. and trust in the morrals that you have instill in them.. and even then kids mess up! Because they are children! And yes I agree that she is too young.. and she has no idea what shes in for or losing out on.. but its done now.. and the statments she has released sound mature. And at least she is in a better financial sitituation than normal 16yr olds.. I just feel like everyone just wants to pick on this family! And its not right.. every family has shinning moments and times they need privacy.

    I dont think she should be havin sex at such a young age. She is only 16!!! i mean i know i had a baby girl at age 12 but still. from this day on i dont regret having her at all.

    Where is mom and dad? Sorry, but she is 16 years old and as a parent we are responsible for our children. Why would any parent allow a 19 year old “man” in their home to stay the night and allow him to drive her to work? Way too much alone time together. Why didnt her parents monitor her time with this man? Why would a parent allow their 16 year daughter to spend so much time with a 19 year man? She is a 16 year young lady who is experiencing her “First Love”. If her parent intrusted this man so much, why didn’t either of her parents sit down and speak with this man and tell him “You may come and visit, but you have to stay at a hotel and you may come meet us on the set not drive her to the set, you may take her to dinner luch etc, however she is 16 and does have a curfew. “If we find out you disrespect our rules in anyway that will be the end of your relationship with our daughter. Let him know you’ve also had the same talk with your daughter and that being said you as parents are trusting both to be “SMART”. As a parent explain to your 16 year old daughter you completely understand how much she loves her boyfriend, but there are rules she must obey until she is 18 and on her own. She has school work she needs to be concentrating on, a contract with a show that she wanted to do and she has too many responsiblities at this time and this show is a whole group/team effort. It’s part of the job that she or anyone that has to do with the show can not screw up in anyway. If she doesn’t want to act anymore look over her contact and begin the ending process. Remind her everytime she steps out of the house to be with friends, boyfriend etc., she is representing her mother and father. Disrespecting any person or herself is not tollerated. What about this man’s responsibility? If Jamie Lynn was that naieve what about him saying “I love you” but before we have sex let’s do it right. We both need to take responsibility with birth control. She could have made an appointment with her Dr. she didnt’ have to go to a clinic and condoms are sold everywhere. Why is OK magazine giving $1million dollars for pictures when the baby is born? I feel this is going to send teens the wrong message. Jamie Lynn is in a different income category than other teens. She can afford to have a baby but it doesn’t mean it’s going to be easy. I can’t help but put some not all of this blame on the Spear parents because although they can’t be with their daughter all the time, and they can only hope their children will do what’s right, I think they allowed this man too much time with their daughter. I understand they care for this man but this man has also taken advantage of their hospitality and I feel disrespected them as parents, especially everything that is going on with their family at this time. I’m sure he is not the same person as he was was he was 16. At least he’s had 3 more years of growing up than Jamie Lynn.

    I just wish Jamie Lynne all the best and hope that her boyfriend steps up. She certainly is too young for this, but has advantages others who are much older don’t have. I’m sure she’ll have problems with employment, but with the right guidance financially she’ll be in good shape.

    And, cc…you had a baby at 12? Why do I find this very, very hard to believe? If it’s true, I wish you all the luck in the world, Honey, and hope the baby’s father is in the picture.
